Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) is a small hub airport located in beautiful southwest Montana serving 1.2 million passengers (Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier and United) with 80,000 annual operations. The Airport is seeking motivated individuals for Airport Operations Specialist positions. The Operations Specialist is an entry level position that performs various duties with established policies and procedures as directed by operational requirements. Position assures continuous safety and security compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Parts 77 and 139, Transportation Security Regulation (TSR) Part 1542, in addition to all other applicable statutes, regulations, and requirements. Duties include but are not limited to airfield inspections, responding to airport alerts, snow removal, periodic safety and quality control inspection of aviation fuel storage facility and fueling operations, safety and environmental compliance, emergency response, NOTAM management, wildlife management and other duties as assigned.
Prefer a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Airport or Aviation/Aerospace Management, Aviation/Aerospace Science, Business or Public Administration, or closely related field combined with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in airport operations or administration, or in a position with direct aviation relevance. Candidates must have the ability to interact effectively with the public and airport stakeholders. Prior experience with a Fixed Base Operator (FBO), airline, air cargo carrier, airfield maintenance, and/or airport emergency services and possession of a Private Pilot Certificate is desirable. Candidates must be available for night, weekend, rotating, or irregular shift assignments. Applicant must be able to qualify within one month of employment for ARFF certification and obtain a Montana Class B Commercial Driver's license. Must be able to pass a criminal history background check and obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport.

BZN is currently served by six commercial air carriers, including American, Alaska, Allegiant, Delta, Frontier and United. Year-round service is provided to Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Las Vegas, Minneapolis/St Paul, Phoenix/Mesa, Salt Lake City and Seattle/Tacoma. Seasonal service to Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, New York LaGuardia, Newark, Portland Oregon and San Francisco occurs during the winter and summer. In addition, FBO services at the airport are currently provided by Arlin's Aircraft and Yellowstone Jet Center. BZN has developed and maintains a level of service that is highly respected throughout the Northwest by the flying public and the businesses located on the airport.
In 2017, BZN is expected to handle 1.2 million Total Passengers and 80,000 aircraft operations. Additionally, a robust General Aviation (GA) sector is an important part of BZN, with over 300 Based Aircraft representing approximately 80% of Total Operations.
