he DPC is seeking an Airport Chief Engineer to lead all aspects of professional engineering, construction and architectural work at CLE, BLK and the Division of Harbors. This role directs the performance of professional and administrative Engineering and Construction teams for project designs, cost estimates, plans, specifications, schedules, construction and architectural projects. Provides technical oversight and inspection of work in progress through management of professional staff in these areas; monitoring developments in equipment, materials, techniques; program and construction management; project delivery systems; and value engineering in the three fields.
A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Airport Engineering or a related Engineering field is required.
Professional Engineer license is required.
A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a similar or related field in the public, private or militart sectors is required.
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration rules, guidance, and requirements is required.
Strong management, analytical, verbal and written communication skills are required.
Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, and expidition, Prolog and/or Auto/CAD are required.
Responsible for writing and compiling reports and other statistical information.
Manages airport design construction and professional services contracts and consultants, as well as quality assurance and quality control methods in these practice areas.
A valid State of Ohio driver's license is required. Must pass all Ground Vehicle Operator and airfleid communications regulatory training requirements and assessments to obtain appliable driving privileges on the AOA within three (3) months of hire.
Superior knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, FAA standards and/or ODOT standards is required.
