The City of San Jose-Mineta San Jose International Airport is recruiting for a Public Information Representative I/II.This position will lead, coordinate, and execute marketing/outreach plans for the Airport's Passenger and Concession Marketing programs to ensure positive passenger experiences, and to support other Airport marketing and communications programs. Key responsibilities include the creation of compelling marketing content for use in social media and other advertising channels. In addition to an understanding of digital marketing techniques and principles, successful candidates will have knowledge and demonstrable hands-on storytelling skill in at least one of the following areas: graphic design, video production/editing, photography, and/or copywriting for social media/advertising/marketing.
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to:
Public Information Representative I:
1. Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in journalism, communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, public administration, or a closely related field. No minimum experience required. 2. Acceptable Substitutions: Additional years of professional experience in public relations, public information, or other related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis up to two years.
Public Information Representative II:
1. Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in journalism, communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, public administration, or a closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional public information, marketing or public relations experience. 2. Acceptable Substitutions: No substitution for education.
Licenses: Valid California Driver's License may be required.
