The Maryland Aviation Administration is currently accepting applications for Noise Abatement Manager (Administrator V), within the Office of Environmental Services at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).
The Noise Abatement Manager is responsible for the development, management, administration and implementation of MDOT MAA’s comprehensive Noise Compatibility Program for BWI Marshall and Martin State Airports. This position assures that MDOT MAA is in compliance with all applicable laws, orders, statues and regulations pertaining to airport noise and land use compatibility.
The Noise Abatement Manager serves as a liaison with the general public and local government offices on airport noise abatement and land use compatibility issues.
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Aviation Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Environmental Policy, Public Administration or a closely related field.
Experience: Six years of experience in administrative or professional work. This experience must have involved contract management or administration, and/or project management responsibility, of which at least two years is at a supervisory level or higher.
The ideal candidate will have progressively increasing responsibilities in airport or transportation noise abatement issues, including experience with airport or transportation noise mitigating activities, noise monitoring systems, noise related activity analysis, noise complaint management, and public engagement.
Additional Salary Information: Salary compensation is in the range of $51,743 - $91,107 with associated state government health benefits and pension.
