Our client, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic leader to fill the position of Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the President and CEO, the CFO is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the financial, accounting, and treasury activities of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority and the MNAA Properties Corporation (MPC), a subsidiary that operates and develops non-aviation properties for MNAA. The CFO will confer with and advise the President and CEO and executive staff members in the development of a financial business plan that allows MNAA to manage and control operating and non-operating revenues and expenses, capital spending, and debt service in support of the Long-term Strategic Business Plan. The CFO has four direct reports and also chairs the Pension Committee.
The minimum qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university. A Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Public Administration, or Finance is highly desired. A CPA, while preferred, is not required.
The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience as a CFO or Comptroller, including experience in public finance. Airport experience is preferred but not required. He/she will have strong working knowledge of the principles, practices, rules, regulations, and laws related to accounting, budgeting, auditing, purchasing, investments, collections, and real property acquisition and disposal. Experience with large capital improvement programs ($1 billion level) and financing highly desirable.
Candidates must be experienced in automated financial management systems and able to use a PC with a variety of software packages including electronic spreadsheets. S/he must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written presentation and communications skills.
Candidates must be able to obtain a Tennessee driver’s license and obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance.
