The Staff Analyst - Safety Management System (SMS) will develop and maintain the FAA mandated Airport's Safety Management System for the airport, tenants, and stakeholders. This position will also guide and direct the planning, implementation, and operation of the SMS. Collaborate with airport sections, tenants, and stakeholders to foster information sharing and Integrate SMS principles to include airside and landside operations. Serve as a safety ambassador and participate in meetings as needed. Assist with software integration and process flow documentation. Develop and manage airport specific documentation and record keeping processes and route information to airport management. Develop safety risk management (SRM) processes for operations and construction. Develop a process to communicate policies and objectives throughout the organization. Promote safety awareness through workshops, events, discussions, on-site presence, and management commitment. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field directly related to the type of work being performed. Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Three (3) years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience related to the type of work being performed are required. Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Requires a valid Class C Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2).
