ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: -Develops and administers the Airport Master Plan to include collaborating with management and capacity enhancement programs for sustaining and improving the airport's infrastructure and facilities; analyzes regulatory and social/political constraints in airport development; reviews and comments on proposed legislation affecting airports; and assists with community presentations. -Collaborates with department-wide teams on capital improvements and facilities development; oversees consultant contracts involved in airport and transportation planning, design, and construction projects. -Administers planning policies and regulations; interprets and implements Federal, State and Regional laws and regulations; interprets and integrates planning requirements into policy direction, plans, and management of department programs; determines the application of NEPA and other Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, and codes. -Conducts airside planning studies and analysis including gate layout/optimization, FAA design standard review, and airspace evaluations; researches current airline trends, scheduling, and fleet mix to identify potential impact to ABIA operational efficiency.
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Airport Planning, or a directly related field, plus four (4) years of professional experience in airport planning/operations.
Experience in aviation planning or related work may substitute for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years.
