In this position, you will supervise and coordinate the administration and operation of airside, landside, and Communications Center activities of the Airport (Colorado Springs Airport). You will also coordinate assigned activities with other Airport work sections, tenants, outside agencies, and the public.

Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
Provide staff support to the airport operations manager and day-to-day oversight of administrative functions
Ensure regulatory compliance with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and TSA (Transportation Security Administration); maintain the Airport Certification Manual and Airport Emergency Plan; and ensure daily security logs are completed
Inspect airfield facilities
Assist with investigating Airport incidents, security issues, and risk management issues; coordinate investigations and responses to security issues with Colorado Springs Police Department and TSA; and determine corrective actions
Coordinate Airport operations, security, and safety issues with tenant airlines, TSA, and outside agencies
Respond to disputes with tenants; monitor lease compliance; and enforcement Airport rules
Monitor and operate CCTV systems and radio talkgroups
Direct, coordinate, and review the work of assigned personnel; assign work activities and projects; monitor work flow; inspect, review, and evaluate work products, training, methods, and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; work with staff to correct deficiencies; and implement discipline and termination procedures as needed
Supervise operations agents, senior agents, and communications dispatchers
Attend and participate in meetings
Assist in the development of the annual budget
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Knowledge of pertinent FAA and TSA regulations
Knowledge of budget development
Ability to stay current on new innovations and trends in the aviation field
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Successful candidate will have:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in aviation management, professional aeronautics, aviation administration, public administration, business administration, or related field
Three years of full-time professional airport operations experience
Possess and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges
Ideal candidates will also have:
One year of supervisory experience
One year of communication dispatcher experience
This position requires that you are available for emergency callout.
The selected candidate must pass (or have already passed) a fingerprint-based criminal history records check as required by the Transportation Security Administration.
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, and walking or standing to a significant degree.
