Job Summary: The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for managing the functions of the FP&A department including the oversight of the annual budget development and implementation process and analysis of internal and external financial activities.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Oversees the Airport Authority annual budget process, including but not limited to monitoring budget activity, providing financial information support to departments, providing financial reports, as well as ensuring compliance with overall budgetary controls.
Oversees the setting of airline rates and charges for operations at BNA and JWN in accordance with the Airport Use and Lease Agreements and the annual operating budgets.
Generate accurate and timely management reports on the operating and financial performance of the BNA and JWN airports. Provides independent assessment on operating financial results.
Assists the Controller with the year-end true up to the Airlines.
Performs detailed analysis and forecasting for the Airport Authority’s operating budgets to accurately communicate annual projections to ensure financial obligation are coordinated and achieved.
Facilitates and analyzes financial plans for the Airport Authority’s Capital Improvement program.
Leads and coordinates annual three-year Workforce plan activity for the Authority, along with human resources and senior leadership to ensure information is analyzed and financial resources are properly captured through the annual budgeting activity and monthly forecasting analysis.
Provides independent analysis and recommendations to senior leadership on department requests for funding of new initiatives that will be funded from O&M expense budget and capital investments.
Coordinates and publishes annual budget book to inform internal and external stakeholders of all financial information for the upcoming budget year, as well as provide a mechanism/resource for various Authority statistics and measurements.
Collects, reviews and analyzes operating and financial data from internal and external sources.
Conducts independent analysis in areas of cost managements, operational effectiveness, process improvements and productivity.
Conducts special studies and/or financial/operational analyses.
Develops and presents financial information to the internal staff, airlines and the Airport Authority Board.
Communicate financial information to Executive Leadership Team and periodically addresses any budgetary concerns with appropriate Assistant Vice Presidents.
Develops, implements, and monitors annual budget for assigned departments. Justifies budgetary requests in oral and written form for the Executive Team and Airport Authority Board.
Coordinates with other department regarding all aspect of the grant management, PFC and CIP management processes.
Works with the Director of Treasury to prepare cash flow activity forecast for various funding sources.
Acts as champion of assigned Department at Executive, Board and interdepartmental meetings by communicating needs, skills and services of department members and recognizing accomplishments.
Communicates Department’s needs, successes and concerns to Vice Presidents.
Serves on cross-functional Airport Teams. Completed projects individually and as a team for the Airport Authority.
Directs or manages the overall operations of their assigned Department. Coordinates the activities of assigned across department lines.
Develops and implements policies and procedures at the employee, Authority and customer level.
Tracks departmental activities that support the Airport Authority’s strategic plan. Ensures completion of projects that are critical to the organization and department.
Represents the Airport Authority at professional or industry specific conferences and organizations. Represents the Airport Authority at client/customer meetings, government hearings and promotional events.
Aligns department duties with organizational goals, through restructuring of tasks, duties or scope, directs growth of department. Determines staffing, evaluates candidates for promotion or employment. Monitors and participates in employee discipline and termination activities.
Conducts research, writes documents, and verifies accuracy of work performed by staff members.
Communicates goals, strategic plans and needs of the organization to department staff.
Maintains regular and on-time attendance.

Master's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
A minimum of ten (10) years’ overall financial planning and analysis experience; and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a management-level position that oversees financial planning & analysis operations of an airport, a company or municipal entity required.
Three years of airport experience preferred.
