MANAGER AIRPORT AND BUSINESS PARK OPERATIONS DUTIES AND FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This administrative level position involves aeronautical planning, developing associated infrastructure and managing the Delaware Coastal Airport including the Delaware Coastal Business Park. This incumbent is responsible for the overall operation, safety and security of the airport and business park. Work is performed under the general direction of the County Engineer and County Administrator.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Comprehensive knowledge of airport management methods, practices, and procedures; thorough knowledge of Airport and Business Park operations; ability to plan and supervise the work of professional and technical assistants; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with government, civic and private organizations; comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations applicable to airport operations and construction.
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field and three (3) years’ experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; excellent organizational and customer service skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); supervisory experience is preferred; experience in airport operations or aviation related fields is desired. American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Certified Member (CM) status is preferred or able to obtain within one year of assignment.
