The Department of Aviation is seeking a qualified Marketing Communications Consultant to become a key member of the Public Information and Marketing Division. The Marketing Communication Consultant role for Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will create, oversee and execute marketing plans for primary sources of AUS revenue: airlines, parking, food/beverage and retail programs. Provide insight and guidance to strategies and materials that market AUS products and services, and the AUS brand itself. Will also conduct market research to better understand the AUS customers, competitors, and how to convert customers to AUS services. This position will work directly with the Air Service Development team to craft strategies on how to promote new carriers and routes, and execute strategies, and will work with external AUS partners to develop marketing strategies for the airport as a whole. Position will assist in developing advertising and promotion budget, developing campaigns, including for social media.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years experience in a related field
Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years
PREFERRD QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to demonstrate experience in graphic design for a company, corporation, or clients
Ability to demonstrate experience promoting, products or services through advertising, social media, and other marketing strategies.
Knowledge of travel and tourism industries.
Ability to travel to more than one work location.
