Under the general direction of the Chief Development Officer, the incumbent is responsible for management of the Environmental and Sustainability related activities for the Airport Authority. The Director will ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental related permits issued to the Airport Authority. The Director will also lead the initiative to establish the Airport Authority as a leader in the field of sustainability.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Engineering, Environmental Studies, or closely related field; And
  • 8 or more years of progressively responsible experience in environmental management at an airport or large industrial facility; or maintaining compliance with multiple regulatory (agencies) permits.
  • Office Suite Software (Core - Email, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation) To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of work processing, database, and spreadsheet software such as those found in the Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Proficient with Database Systems / Software
  • ST of MI Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHHM) or the ability to obtain within (36) thirty-six months.
  • ST of MI Driver License and a safe, acceptable driving record.
  • WCAA Airfield Certification (Movement Area) Obtain and maintain the required Part 139 Airfield Safety Certification.
  • AAAE Accredited Executive (A.A.E) or the ability to obtain within (36) thirty-six months. Or
  • AAAE Certified Member (C.M) or the ability to obtain within (36) thirty-six months.
