MBS International Airport is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Assistant Director position. MBS normally handles approximately 130,000 annual passenger enplanements and is served by Delta and United airlines. The Airport works closely with the City of Midland, the County of Bay, and the City of Saginaw for marketing and development.
This position is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the airport, as well as handling airport security and height zoning issues. The position also involves long-range airport planning and budgeting, as well as construction project coordination.
The incumbent will report directly to the Airport Director and provides direct managerial oversight of the ARFF/Operations and Facilities/Maintenance departments.

Graduation from a college or university with a major in business administration, finance, marketing, or other field appropriate to airport management; or a combination of education, training, and work experience that demonstrates an ability to meet the requirements of this job is desirable.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in airport management at an air carrier airport, with a thorough knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations relating to the operation, security, and safety of airport facilities and grounds, persons, aircraft, and vehicles.
Certification as an Accredited Airport Executive with the American Association of Airport Executives is desirable, but not required.
The employee will need to be licensed with the State of Michigan as an Assistant Airport Manager within 6 months of hire.
MBS International Airport is a public use FAA Part 139 airport located in Freeland, Michigan. The airport is owned by the City of Midland, County of Bay, and the City of Saginaw. It is a small non-hub airport with approximately 25 employees.
