The City of Renton is recruiting for a 3 month internship at the Renton Municipal Airport. This internship is established to provide practical work experience to students whose interest and intention is working in the aviation industry. In this position you will assist with administrative duties, airport inspection, maintenance and security.

-Assist with all administrative duties including records management, airport badging, lease management, and responding to phone/email inquiries. -Assist with updating and implementing airport policies such as the Airport Management System. -Assist Airport Engineer with design, construction and improvement projects, as needed. -Assist, and work alongside, Operations and Maintenance staff with landscaping projects and maintenance equipment. -Coordinate social media efforts and various community outreach initiatives. -Actively learn and become proficient with applicable regulations as they apply to civil airports. -Attend Federal, State, City and Renton Airport Advisory Council meetings. -Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college, pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in the areas of business, public administration, or engineering and a verifiable interest in pursuing an aviation career.
  • Demonstrated interest in an aviation career through membership in aviation industry association, flight training, volunteering or job shadowing.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Editing, organizational, and planning skills. 
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License, or ability to obtain one.
  • Successful passing of background check.
  • Provide a Driver's Abstract that is approved by the Risk Management department.
