The Painter performs a variety of work, including the preparation and painting of interior and exterior structure surfaces, electrical and mechanical equipment, fences, and furniture. Painters are expected to solve most technical problems themselves.
The minimum requirements include graduation from high school and completion of an accredited apprenticeship program. Four years of full-time experience may be substituted for education.
Experience performing pavement striping and marking is highly desirable
The Port of Oakland requires each incumbent to successfully complete a TSA background check, which will include a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and a Security Threat Assessment (STA), prior to being considered for this position. In addition, the incumbent in this position will be required to complete and pass a U.S. Customs Airport Security Program Check (19CFR122.182).
