The Horry County Department of Airports maintains and operates a proprietary, shared-use/common-use system for its airline tenants which incorporates all computers, phones, displays and networks throughout the airport. The Airport Network Technician is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the shared-use/common-use system as well as other workstations, servers and network infrastructure within the Department of Airports. The Airport Network Technician provides end-user technical support and serves as the main point of contact for technical issues. This position reports directly to the Airport Technology Manager.
Duties for this Position
•Provides a high level of customer service and support to airport staff, airlines and tenants. •Installation, configuration, maintenance and operation of all information systems within the Department of Airports including networking, telephony, access control, virtualization, Active Directory, and miscellaneous hardware and software •Other duties as directed by management
Requires an Associate's degree in Computer Technology supplemented by one year of computer experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must have the aptitude to learn new hardware and software applications quickly and the ability to think outside the box to locate solutions.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a comparable position and/or have certifications from CompITA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Operating Systems or VMware.
Energetic, team player, hardworking, fluent English dialog, demonstrated self-motivation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical skills.
